Fall, my favorite season, had arrived, and as a new mom, I was thrilled to take my 7-month-old daughter on crisp morning walks. But as the weather cooled, her skin began to suffer—dry, irritated, and constantly itchy. When our pediatrician diagnosed her with eczema, she advised long sleeves, long pants, and endless moisturizing. I followed this regimen faithfully, but her red, itchy patches just wouldn’t heal, especially behind her knees. Watching her discomfort daily was heartbreaking.

After weeks of trying lotions, creams, and ointments with little relief, I had an “aha” moment one sleep-deprived morning. While rubbing lotion onto her legs, she squirmed and fussed, and out of frustration, I said, “I wish this lotion was just in your clothes!” It struck me—what if her clothes could actually soothe her skin? I immediately searched for any kind of infused baby clothing but found nothing available. So, I set out to create it myself. A year and a half later, in 2016, Softsie was born!

My vision was simple but ambitious: to create a high-quality, American-made fabric that was exceptionally soft, organic, and infused with soothing moisturizers for all skin types. I started with footie pajamas—the daily essential for babies—designing a piece that my daughter could eat, sleep, and play in while nourishing her skin. From that first footie, Softsie quickly grew into a full line of sizes and styles for kids and women, in a variety of modern colors.
